America for Spain.

many Aztecs starved, the Spanish
destroyed many Aztec buildings &
books, & they built Mexico City, the
capital of New Spain, on the ruins
of Tenochtitlan.

colonist by Spanish
government as a way of
settling & controlling New
Spain.
