Group Project 2: The Perfect School
DUE Wednesday, December 19th at beginning of class! 100 exam/project points
Project Description: In this assignment, you will be pulling together your knowledge of school
vocabulary, descriptions, grammar from Unit 3 and conjugating verbs to create the perfect high
school. In your groups, you will make a blueprint/map of the school, and a brochure or flyer that
clearly states your school schedule, activities offered, and then describe what students and teachers
would be like at the school. On December 19th and 20th, groups will present their perfect high
school OUT LOUD IN SPANISH for the class. The assignment will be divided into four (4) parts:
1) Blueprint (20 pts): Your group will draw a map or blueprint of your school. This will be the main
visual of your project. Your school map must include:
- The NAME of your school
- At least printer paper sized . . . use color!
- Rooms need to be labeled IN SPANISH
- Neatly drawn (straight lines, clear writing, etc.)
**The following items can be presented in the form of a flyer, brochure, booklet, or PowerPoint presentation, as
long as it clearly displays ALL of the following:
2) School Schedule (10 pts): You will write down the ideal school schedule for your school. You
may be creative with the schedule, but it must include:
- Time of when things begin and end
- At least 6 class periods in the day
- Written in Spanish
3) Activities offered (10 pts): Please list any classes and activities offered to students who attend
your school. Include:
- Name of activity (in Spanish)
- a few descriptive words about the activity
- At least 5 activities listed
4) Descriptions of teachers (15 pts): In Spanish, describe what the teachers and administration are
like at the school. What is their personalities? What are their classes like?
- Write at least 3 descriptive sentences about the teachers
5) Describing the perfect student (15 pts): Write about what the perfect student at the school would
be like (hard-working, always on time, studies, etc.)
- Use the phrase "hay que" correctly
- Must include at least 5 traits about the student
**Groups will present their Perfect Schools on Wednesday, December 19th during class. Each person in the
group must share at least one part of your project. Presentation guidelines are as follows:
6) Presentation Guidelines (25 pts):
- Each person in the group must share at least one part of your project
- To get full credit, you must be present when your group presents
- You may look at your materials, but you may NOT simply read from a paper to present.
The remaining 5 points will be based on groups participation and respect for others both in class
working on their projects, and when each of the other groups presents.
You will have the following days to work with your group on your project in class. Please bring
materials you may need (poster board, markers, rulers, etc.) to work on your projects:
Thursday, December 13th - End of class
Monday, December 17th - End of class
Tuesday, December 18th - All class
