DIRECTIONS— ASSIGNMENTS—I will be checking homework (assignment) completion on a per chapter basis. I will collect
notebooks while students are testing and check them for completion. A chapter’s work will be worth 20 points. The following
are homework deductions: Layout – All homework will have student’s name, section number, and assigned problems on top
right of paper. (-0.5 pt) Neatness – All homework will be readable. (-0.5 pt) Computations Shown – All problems requiring
computations or have a drawing are copied onto student’s paper and are solved using algebraic steps. (-2.0 pt) Erasures –
Erasures are bad!! Do not ERASE!! Cross off and start over to correct mistakes. (-0.5 pt) Incomplete assignment – Deductions
will vary based on what is done. HOMEWORK/ASSIGNMENTS COUNT AS 10% OF OVERALL GRADE. TAKE HOME QUIZZES –
Students are encouraged to work together on take home quizzes BUT NOT COPY THEM!!! Take-home quizzes are due on day
set. BONUS POINTS WILL be given to quizzes turned in BEFORE the due date. One extra point for EACH day early it is turned
in. There are NO corrections on Take Home Quizzes. CHAPTER TESTS - The format for tests will be as follows: A REVIEW will be
given at the end of each chapter which will contain questions similar to ones on the test. The Review will be collected on the
day of the test and scored out of 10 points. A review must be completed and a score of 8 or higher must be achieved in order
for a student to be eligible for test corrections. Test Corrections - Learning is not complete when the test is taken. Please
follow all of the following steps carefully in order to earn HALF credit back for each problem. 1. Turn in review on or before
the test day. 2. Please do all corrections on a separate sheet of paper. 3. For each problem wrong – copy the problem, correct
the problem, SHOWING WORK, circle the answer, and write a brief statement of what you did wrong on the test. 4. Staple the
corrections to the back of the test and turn in.
