Wind is the horizontal movement of air. The sun plays a part in wind. Wind distributes the air evenly to keep the planet in a state of homeostasis and even temperature. Wind always moves from an area of high pressure to low pressure. Air particles do not like to be packed tightly together, so they move to be free. Types of winds: Local winds – winds that cover a small area Sea breeze – winds that move from the sea to the land (winds are always named for the place they come from) - always happens during the day. At night, the wind goes toward the ocean. The land heats up and cools down faster than water. Global winds – are huge winds that cover a big area of the globe
