 Wind is the horizontal movement of air.
 The sun plays a part in wind.
 Wind distributes the air evenly to keep the planet in a state of homeostasis and even
temperature.
 Wind always moves from an area of high pressure to low pressure.
 Air particles do not like to be packed tightly together, so they move to be free.
 Types of winds:
 Local winds – winds that cover a small area
 Sea breeze – winds that move from the sea to the land (winds are always
named for the place they come from) - always happens during the day. At night,
the wind goes toward the ocean. The land heats up and cools down faster than
water.
 Global winds – are huge winds that cover a big area of the globe
