Volunteer Opportunities Volunteer positions – United Way of King County’s Free Tax Campaign Looking to make an impact in the community? Volunteer with the Tax Preparation Campaign! Last year alone, tax sites across King County prepared 17,500 tax returns and brought $24 million back to the community in tax refunds. Today, United Way’s Free Tax Campaign has become one of Washington’s largest anti-poverty campaigns. Two volunteering options are available: 1. Volunteer Intake and Benefits Specialists (VIBS) – VIBS help clients get paperwork in order and connect them to other financial services and public benefits. 2. Volunteer Tax Preparers – Tax Preparers are IRS certified to help clients complete their tax returns and ensure they get the credits they’re eligible for. Laboratory Technician (Parkinson’s Disease) – Seattle Institute for Biomedical and Clinical Research The incumbent will play an integral role in an ongoing, multicenter, genetics research study on Parkinson’s disease based at the Seattle VA Puget Sound Health Care System. This individual will perform laboratory duties, and analyze and track data in a Microsoft Access database. This is a one year position with possibility of continuation based on grants funding.
