Customer Service Specialist – UW Bothell Quantitative Skills Center
The Quantitative Skills Center (QSC) is hiring Customer Service Specialist for Winter 2015! QSC is
looking for friendly people who are enthusiastic about helping and welcoming others. Job
responsibilities include: welcoming clients into the Center, assisting clients with sign-in procedures,

Tutor – UW Bothell Quantitative Skills Center
The Quantitative Skills Center (QSC) is hiring tutors for the 2015 Winter Quarter who enjoy
quantitative subjects and are enthusiastic about helping others. In particular, QSC is looking for
applicants with at least two courses in – and a solid understanding of – accounting, biology,
chemistry, climate science, computer science, economics, finance, GIS, math, organic chemistry,
physics, SPSS, and statistics.

Student Assistant – Advancement and External Relations
The Advancement and External Relations is looking for a storyteller who is ready to expand their
multimedia skills! This position provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. The
student assistant will help shape the voice and image of UW Bothell, provide basic support for the
Office of Advancement and External Relations at UW Bothell, and help with events and other duties
as assigned. Work Study preferred.

Web Design Student Assistant – Advancement and External Relations

2015 Engineering Intern – Amazon Corporate LLC
Amazon is looking to hire software development engineer interns into their technical teams based in
Seattle, Washington. Interns and Co-ops will design, develop, and write real software and partner
with a select group of experienced software development engineers, who both challenge and
further develop them as they analyze and solve innovative projects that matter to Amazon’s
customers.

Editor Intern – The Borgen Project
The Brogen Project is an innovative, national campaign that works with U.S. leaders to improve their

Internship Course – BIS 495
The IAS Internship course (BIS 495) for Winter 2015 is a credit/no-credit course designed for
students interested in linking their classroom education to practice-based learning in local for-profit,
not-for-profit, and governmental organizations. It also will meet the IPR graduation requirement.

Research in Action – B CUSP 290
Learn how to practice undergraduate research while engaging faculty and student research projects
across this campus. This 2 credit class meets once a week and is designed to help you develop skills
and become a successful scholar, researcher, communicator, and writer. After completing this
course, you will have a greater awareness of the opportunities and resources across our campus and
the benefits of participating in undergraduate research. For more information, contact

Field-Based Learning - B CUSP 199
Designed for pre-majors interested in gaining hands-on work experience to access potential
educational and career paths. Credit/no-credit only. Practical experience gained in professional work
environments, on-line class assignments and reflections, as well as the support of a cohort of fellow
interns will provide students the opportunity to think critically and reflect on their goals at an

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer positions – United Way of King County’s Free Tax Campaign
Looking to make an impact in the community? Volunteer with the Tax Preparation Campaign! Last
year alone, tax sites across King County prepared 17,500 tax returns and brought $24 million back to
the community in tax refunds. Today, United Way’s Free Tax Campaign has become one of
Washington’s largest anti-poverty campaigns.
Two volunteering options are available:
1. Volunteer Intake and Benefits Specialists (VIBS) – VIBS help clients get paperwork in
order and connect them to other financial services and public benefits.
2. Volunteer Tax Preparers – Tax Preparers are IRS certified to help clients complete their
tax returns and ensure they get the credits they’re eligible for.

Komen Outreach Specialist with Familias Unida – Lutheran Community Services
Lutheran Community Services Northwest, a non-profit, multi-service agency, has over 75 years of
experience providing high quality services to meet the changing needs in the community. The North
Puget Sound Area office provides foster care, counseling, refugee services, family support, and
advocacy. The Lutheran Community Services Northwest is in search of a qualified, caring person to
promote breast health awareness to the Latino communities of Snohomish and Skagit Counties. The
Komen Outreach Specialist will develop and maintain relationships with the community and help to
establish a core network of trainers from the community.

Health Education and Outreach Specialist is responsible for the intake and referrals for medical
examinations; cultivating community partnerships to enhance services and information available to
the Latino community in Skagit and Snohomish Counties; data and reporting; outreach; and working
with volunteers and supporting recruitment efforts.

Laboratory Technician (Parkinson’s Disease) – Seattle Institute for Biomedical and Clinical
Research
The incumbent will play an integral role in an ongoing, multicenter, genetics research study on
Parkinson’s disease based at the Seattle VA Puget Sound Health Care System. This individual will
perform laboratory duties, and analyze and track data in a Microsoft Access database. This is a one
year position with possibility of continuation based on grants funding.
