Information Services & Technology July 2012 WELCOME NEW FACULTY IST Overview Information Services & Technology Information Services and Technology (IST), is an administrative unit reporting to the Vice-President (Administration), which provides computing and communications resources and expertise to support our clients in their teaching, learning, research, administrative and community service endeavours by providing information technology infrastructure and services and by providing leadership and expertise in information technology solutions and services thereby contributing to the creation, preservation and communication of knowledge in the community. http://umanitoba.ca/computing/ist Client Services - The Client Services department works in partnership with the University's faculty, students, and staff to maximize the value of information technology by providing access to services in a “one stop shop” environment. Computer & Network Services - . The division is responsible for the development, enhancement, maintenance and production support of the IT architecture for the University of Manitoba. This includes data centre operations, the management of the voice and data cable plant and networks, server and operating systems, including file and print sharing solutions, data storage and integration software and solutions. Enterprise Systems - responsible for the development, enhancement, maintenance and production support activities of advanced computer systems to support all administrative offices of the University. This includes the implementation and support of all ERP application software, database management software, development software tools, middleware and utilities and some hardware. In addition, the unit is responsible for University web development including support for the JUMP portal, development of web services, and development and support for web content.
