NAC Group JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Location: Quality Reviewer North West primarily. Some travel to the East Midlands and North East. Base to be in Skelmersdale, WN8 9TG Senior Managers, North West To facilitate quality reviews in relation to a range of teaching and support activity and to report such activity. To embed a quality culture of continuous improvement. £28,000 - £32,000 26 days per annum plus 8 bank holidays 40 hours per week Report to: Purpose: Salary: Holiday: Hours: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Work with Senior Manager’s to agree the approach and methods to be used during each quality review and have proactive ideas and suggestions to enhance a quality culture. 2. Apply prescribed mechanisms such as the following in order to facilitate quality reviews: Use standard checking procedures to review planning and course management and delivery documentation Perform spot check visits to each centre Audit student enrolment documentation for eligibility Audit student registers and challenge poor attendance checking systems Audit ILPs and other learner review documentation Interview focus groups of students Understand feedback findings and produce a quality improvement plan as part of a continuous improvement cycle Observe teaching, learning and assessment taking place and record findings Ensure student surveys take place, are evaluated appropriately and actions are followed Review departmental processes, ensuring central recording takes place Produce Quarterly Quality KPIs for each programme Prepare an annual performance review for each division Provide constructive feedback with realistic and supportive development aims Create enhanced support plans for anyone who has below a ‘good’ grade observation and support their personal improvement. 3. Provide support to other activities relating to Quality Assurance and Quality Reviews. 4. Produce reports and provide feedback to teams, course leaders and senior managers (and others when required) clearly identifying areas of good practice and where there is scope for improvement. 5. Work pro-actively and sensitively with staff when directed in order to promote continuous quality improvement. 6. Participate and contribute to project activity and sub-groups as directed to support managers and course leaders. 7. Create a QIP; maintain, update and share when required. 8. Ensure a quality culture is developed, maintained and embedded across the team. 9. Ensure knowledge of quality processes, frameworks and inspection legislation is up to date. 10. Build a ‘good news stories’ portfolio and ensure this is shared throughout the company. 11. 12. Recognise the importance of quality within the company ethos and reputation. Ensure the standard remains high and continues to improve. Undertake all other duties that fall within the scope of the post. PERSON SPECIFICATION Experience Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working within the Further Education sector undertaking a similar role and be able to outline impacts due to changes personally implemented. Experience of applying quality systems and procedures and report writing. Experience of developing a quality improvement culture throughout the organisation Experience of Teaching, Learning and Assessment Observations Experience of Quality Systems such as ISO9001 Experience of involvement in organisational change and change management Experience of Ofsted practices and experience of supporting a ‘good’ or above inspection or equivalent.
