Official name: Georgia. The name in Georgian language: Sackar’tvelo;

Location and area: Georgia is located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia. Occupies 69,700
sq. km between the Black and Caspian seas. The country has a common border with Turkey,
Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan;

Government: Presidential parliamentary democratic state;
•
Language: Georgian, which is over 2,000 years old and has its own alphabet;
•
Capital: Tbilisi

A. According to the information of the World Bank, Georgia remains one of the most active countriesreformers in the world. Georgia has one of the lowest total tax burden in Central and Eastern Europe and
7-th place in the world.
B. The government of Georgia shall implement reforms since 2004 to provide investors environment
conducive to investment. As a result of carried out economic reforms Georgia positioned itself as an
attractive country for foreign investments.
Advantages:
- A stable macroeconomic environment. Georgia has successfully overcome the global financial crisis and
returns to a state of stable growth after a period of reduced GDP;
- Prospects of development and expansion. Through the continuous improvement of the business
climate, Georgia took the 11th place in the rating of 183 countries on ease of doing business in the
«Statement on the conduct of business» of the world Bank and IFC. Moreover, «doing business 2011» has
called Georgia a country-reformer number one in the world for the last five years. Georgia assigned The
b+ rating organization Standard & Poor's, devoted the 26-th place among the «most free» countries
according to the Index of economic freedom in the rating of the Fund «Heritage» (Heritage Foundation),
and 37-th place in the rating of the world economic forum;
- Strategic geographical location. Georgia performs the function of the physical and political bridge
between the European and Western markets with huge potential of the Caspian and Central Asian regions
through continuous implementation of several large-scale energy and transportation projects. Four of the
existing sea ports, updated the railway infrastructure, the three international airport and a highway of
international standard from the Eastern border of Georgia to the Black sea represent an opportunity for
the rapid transit of goods from Central Asia to Europe and Vice versa.

A. The harvest of the mandarins for industrial processing (concentrate, juice, puree) hold for
20-30 days before the harvest of oranges, starting in November.
•
B. In the whole of Georgia in 2011 gathered about 81 000 tons. The greatest harvest of
apples in Georgia falls on the Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti.
•
C. The whole harvest of grapes in Georgia in 2011 amounted to 121000 tons. On Kakheti
accounts for up to 70% of the harvest of the grapes, the Imereti - up to 25 %.
•
D. In 2011 in Georgia collected 12 000 tons of tkemali. The main part of the crop comes from
Imereti, Samegrelo and Guria.
