This presentation is all about the Vietnam war. It talks about places, people causes and effects about the war. I hope you enjoy our presentation about the Vietnam war.

Place and Countries

North and South Vietnam, France, United States, Australia, South

Korea and New Zealand were the Countriesin the Vietnam war.

China and Russia were supporting the North.

Important Dates

• Sept.27,1950-The M.A.A.G. came to Saigon to aid the French military.

• Nov.1,1955-The U.S took over the advisory role from the

French.

• March,1959-Ho Chi Minh declare the war to the Vietnam, so he can get under his leader ship.

• Dec.11,1961-U.S aircraft carrier [core] arrived with 33 helicopters,400 airplanes, and ground crew men to operate the south Vietnamese army.

Causes

• Early 10th century: Chinese dynasties were changing and the army was weak.

• Gradually,the Vietnamese moved South,settling in the MeKong river delta. In the 19th and 20th century, this area became “the rice bowl of Vietnam.

Effects

The Vietnamese of the Red River delta, defeated their Chinese rulers. They set up a native dynasty based in the northern city of

Hanoi. A later emperor, Le Loi got rid of the last Chinese warlords in 1462

Weapons

In the Vietnam War, they used various weapons. The M-16 was the first automatic weapon used in war. Other guns were used like

Car15, M-72, and .38 special.

Weapons

The Vietnamese used different weapons. These weapons include the AK-47 a similar gun to the M-16. A type-24 a simon OV. The

Vietnamese also used RPG’s which are rocket launchers for shooting down tanks and airplanes.

Important People

One of the most important people in the Vietnam war was Emperor

Bao Dai. He was the king. Another important person was Chi

Minh. He was responsible for independence in Vietnam. Another very important person involved in the Vietnam war was US president Lyndon B. Johnson.

Important Battles

The main Vietnam battle was the Hamlet of Ap Bac on January 2,

1963.

Another important battle was the Fall of Saigon - April 29, 1975

Reflections

During this project. our group learned all about the Vietnam War. We learned how to use PowerPoint and how to research online.

We had a lot of fun working together on this project!
