OAT152 Microsoft Excel 2013 Assignment Information MyITLab has so many resources for you to use to learn Excel. We all learn differently so take advantage of what works for YOU. Take the time now to look at all of the resources in Chapter 1. What do you need to use to become proficient in Excel? Below is all of the content located in all of the chapter folders. It is important for you to return to this document to make sure you are using all of the content and tools available at Course Materials to be successful in this course. 1. Chapter E-text (always available and must be used to learn the objectives) Same as the textbook but delivered electronically. Do you know how to use an etext and all of the available tools? This video will walk you through how to use the eText as a student in MyITLab for Office 2013. It is highly recommended you go through the Hands-On Exercises. For example, the first one is located in the e-text on page 91. Each chapter is broken into various sections covering specific objectives. At the end of each section, there is a Hands-On Exercise. For Chapter 1, there are 6 Hands-On Exercises. This is where you will apply the objectives covered. It will be a continuation file—building the file using the objectives covered in the textbook. Videos are also available. 2. Chapter Companion Website (always available) This website is designed to help you complete the projects in your textbook and find additional training. You will also find data files, study materials and practice quizzes to help you see how you are progressing. 3. PowerPoint (always available) PowerPoint presentation is used to highlight or explain the information that is covered in each chapter. 4. Student Videos (always available) Each video covers a specific objective taught in the chapter and is an excellent resource for learning Excel. This is a highly recommended resource. 5. Simulation Training (always available and must be used to learn the objectives) This training matches the etext content. In a simulated (not live Excel) environment, Excel tasks will be completed. The etext will provide you with additional information; such as other ways to complete tasks. While in training, in the lower right corner, Learning Aids are available to you. These aids include Read, Watch and Practice. These simulations are web-based so you need a strong Internet connection. Document1 Revised: January 9, 2015 1 This video will walk you through how to complete a Simulation Training. 6. Grader Project Homework (must be completed by due date to earn a grade) Once you have moved through the above content, you are ready to apply what you have learned. Grader Projects are completed live in Excel 2013 rather than in the simulated environment. The data file and instructions needed must be downloaded from MyITLab. The completed Excel file will be uploaded to MyITLab for immediate grading. Excel 2013 (not available on the MAC) is required to complete this assignment. If you did not earn 100%, check your submission, edit and resubmit for a second time. This video will walk you through how to complete and view submissions for Grader Project assignments in MyITLab for Office 2013.
