1-in-10 older people in the UK are in contact with friends, family and neighbours less
than once a month.
Age Exchange aims to counteract this isolation.
Focused in the Darley ward, Age Exchange encourages positive, inter-generational exchanges
between students and older people in the Darley ward through a number of exciting events
ran by students within the University and the local community!
What would you be doing?
As part of the wider project, we’re keen to for you to show-off your interests and skills whilst
meeting with the older people in the Darley area.
Organising and managing the events are also key elements of the project.
This is an ideal opportunity for student’s who want to develop their events management and
communication skill sets, giving them the remit to both the lead the direction of the Age
Exchange projects whilst meeting and greeting older people, helping to tackle social isolation
firsthand.
