ASU IMA Student Chapter Technical Meeting Location: Classroom Building, Room 104 Time: 12:15 – 1:00 pm October 20, 2011 The President, Lisa Gels called the meeting to order at 12:15 and welcomed everyone. She informed the Accounting Club that the minutes from last month’s meeting were on wiki and that if there was no objection to the minutes, she would approve them as stated. The President told the Accounting Club that we had raised $2,100 from the Fiddler’s Convention. She also stated that we would be having a can food drive and there would be boxes with Auburn and Alabama on them and they would be located on campus in various locations. The president also mentioned that we would be sponsoring two children from the Angel Tree and more information on this would come later. The President then introduced Becker CPA Representatives Ashley Stephens (Marketing Representative), and Bonnie Hairrell. Bonnie Hairrell showed a presentation and also informed the Accounting Club about the value of a CPA Certification, and the requirements that will be needed. She also let us know that the CPA Exam has four parts which are Financial, Audit, Regulation and Business. In order to pass the CPA Exam you must make a 75 on each test. And about 15 to 20 percent of the questions do not count. Ashley Stephens told the Accounting Club that Becker offers flexible learning formats which include a in class setting, online, and self-study materials. She also informed us that Becker offers financing. There are also discounts available for students and members of ASCPA.
