ESTOP TEST Response Time Test Equipment Used E-STOP Tektronix TDS 2912C Oscilloscope NI CDAQ-9172 Chassis, NI 9215 Analog Input Module, NI 9263 Analog Output Module Hot Wheelz GUI Procedure: 1. Attach the channel 1 probe of the oscilloscope to the positive terminal of the E-STOP 2. Attach the channel 2 probe of the oscilloscope to the positive terminal of the Analog Output 3. Adjust the oscilloscope to capture channel 1 on the rising edge. 4. Open the Hot Wheelz GUI and ensure that the E-STOP status is good 5. Set the GUI to manual mode, hit start and set the throttle position to 100% 6. Press the E-STOP down to cause a fault 7. Capture should be displayed on oscilloscope, save to USB. Repeat steps 4 through 6 five times 8. Analyze spacing between edges of channel 1 and 2 traces. Results: Trial # Response time (ms) 1 206 2 171 3 262 4 258 5 296 Table 1: Response Time E-Stop Average = 238ms Figure 1: Trial 1 Capture Figure 2: Trial 2 Capture Figure 3: Trial 3 Capture Figure 4: Trial 4 Capture Figure 5: Trial 5 Capture Conclusions: The E-Stop stop functions as expected. The triggering of the E-Stop is able to be detected within reasonable time to ensure safety.
