Why do You Need one?
• To give credit to the sources that offered
you information and direction.
• So teachers and others who read your
paper can look up your sources.
How do you cite books?
• Last name, First name. Book Title
(Underlined). Place Published:
Publisher, Year Published.
(Indent the second line)
For Example:

President. New York: United Press,
2007.

How do I cite for the Internet?
“Title of Article.” Person or Organization
Responsible for the Site. Date last
updated. Exact Web Address.

Niles, Kenny. “Mike Tyson is My Hero.” Reader’s
Digest. New York: RD Publishers, 2009.
Notice that the first letters
are alphabetized.
DO NOT number the list.
Now use the source information on your source
cards to create a rough copy of your Works
Consulted Page. Hand this in with your outlines
tomorrow so I can look it over for you.
If you are missing ANY source
information, you must look it up today.
You must list every source that you plan to use in
your paper. If you use information from a source
in the paper and do not include it on your Works
Consulted page, that is technically plagiarism.
If you include a source on your Works Consulted
page, it MUST appear in your paper.
Remember:
•Press the enter key in the middle of
the web address that is long so that it
