Assignment PPT E: How to Evaluate PowerPoint Presentations (PPT)
1. Pick a historical figure, person of personal interest, or an event.
The person you pick should be school appropriate! If you are not sure, ‘ask me.’
2. Your task is to find three PPT presentations that are available on the web. You will
evaluate the three and decide which is best after filling out the spread sheet on the next
page. This may require going back to the first one or second after viewing the third to
help you decide.
3. Use Google.com to find PPTs and PPTXs. You will use the ‘Advanced Search’ feature and
limit your searches to PPT format.
Example: PPT+William Wallace or PPTX+William Wallace
4. Make sure you support why the one selected is the best of the three. Be thorough in
your answer. One or two sentences DOES NOT support your reasoning.
5. After you fill out the Spread sheet on the next page, completed the supporting
comment box, make sure your name and date data field is filled in on the spread sheet.
6. Save it to your documents or the desktop.
7. Send it to the conference via an email attachment.
8. Subject line should have your last name followed by PPT Eval.

In the box provided and based on your answers from above, list the best PPT and explain why?
Be thorough in your explanation as to why. One or two sentences is NOT enough to fully
support your reasoning. Write a paragraph explaining. Paragraphs usually are at a minimum of
seven (7) sentences in length.
My favorite PowerPoint was the one about WWII. I liked the usage of photos and portraits in
this awesomely-designed PowerPoint. I also liked how it was a very long PowerPoint. More than
enough is always better than not enough! It was also very useful information, such as the costs
of the war and the amounts of lives lost. This PowerPoint was also very detailed in visual ways
and information wise. In conclusion, I really like this PowerPoint and would recommend it to
people wanting to learn about WWII.
