Course outline
In the course reviews the international business environment and key issues faced by
international business managers, including international trade and investment environment as
well as the global monetary and financial systems.
Course objectives
The objective of the course is to provide students with general knowledge of the international
business environment and how to manage international and global companies, and culturally
diverse employees.
Students should understand the role of globalization in shaping the business environment and
be capable of evaluating related trends, challenges and opportunities in business practices,
identifying complexities created by globalization and integrating concepts learned in this class
with those acquired in other courses, identifying and assessing major issues related to ethics and
social responsibility in the international arena, critically evaluating various components of a
national environment: technological, cultural, economic, political, and legal systems, and their
influence on business practices and strategies, examining trade and investment theories and
patterns, assessing the role of governments and their impact on the international business
environment, evaluating the role of various forms of regional economic integration on national
economies.
