Job Title:
Marketing & Website Executive
Key relationships
Reports to: Head of Marketing & Brand
Works with: Canopy & Stars team (Marketing and Owner
management), PR, Design, external partners, internal and external
developers, and Sawday’s Operations Executives
Location:
Merchants House, Bristol
Job Purpose:
The Marketing & Website Executive is responsible for co-ordinating,
executing and supporting the technical delivery of marketing
campaigns and activity and Owner and Guest systems improvements.
They will also support website content creation, online and offline
campaigns, email marketing, social media and PR. Through energetic,
creative, insightful, cost-effective and smart thinking and activity the
Marketing & Website Executive will help deliver a brilliant customer
experience and so achieve our business objectives.
Key Accountabilities and
Tasks:
Marketing support:






Marketing Content Management – supporting the Marketing team
to source and generate site and digital content, ensure it is
accurate and optimised to support marketing initiatives and SEO
(includes day to day ‘conversations’ across appropriate social
channels)
Email marketing - source and develop content including managing
creation of design assets and copy. Manage broadcast and monitor
and report on performance and provide suggestions for
optimisation and improved conversion rates. Manage email
database adding any new partner data
Copywriting – provide support for copy across a variety of
marketing activity, including emails, advertising, website, social
media and design materials
Campaigns – support the Marketing and PR team to develop,
manage, deliver and evaluate targeted marketing activity, to meet
the business objectives
Social media – to contribute ideas to and to take ownership of the
delivery of the content strategy across all social channels. Monitor,
update and optimise activity - including advertising, content
creation and managing day to day ‘conversations’ across
appropriate channels to create a vibrant and engaged community
Reporting – ensure tracking and reporting is in place and informing
website based marketing activity. Analyse data to identify
learnings and recommendations for optimised systems
performance. Prepare campaign/activity reports, work with Head
of Marketing & Brand to prepare monthly Marketing & PR report
and Key Stats Report. Carry out bespoke analysis and make
recommendations to improve conversion rates

PPC – curate required Google Adwords copy and support
Marketing Executive in the management of Google PPC campaigns
Design management – develop creative brief and manage design
projects from brief through to delivery
Projects - support cross-functional teams across the business in
delivery of Strategic Projects as required
Partnership collaborations – support the Marketing team with longterm strategic partnerships and take ownership for establishing
and delivering BAU partnerships as part of monthly content plan.
Building strong relationships with any external partners and
spotting shared opportunities for future collaboration
Administration - provide admin support to Marketing team
Brand guardianship - ensure all communications follow Canopy &
Stars’ brand and style guidelines, and are consistent with
marketing positioning and key messaging
Website and systems support:
 Performance – provide constant support for the day-to-day
business performance of the Canopy & Stars website and other
systems
 Testing – assist with the necessary checks to validate work
produced for the website before release, to ensure it meets
requirements
 Risk management - recognise, monitor and mitigate risks within
the business by optimising processes
 Co-ordination – engage and collaborate with internal and external
resources to prioritise and resolve issues as they arise, reporting
progress back to stakeholders
 Supplier relationships – work collaboratively to ensure existing
relationships are productive and positive. Nurture professional
networks
 Internal support – help the Operations Manager respond to any
support requests from the Canopy & Stars team
 Internal communication – support the Operations Manager in
ensuring planned and implemented activities are communicated
and understood by the wider Canopy & Stars team and where
appropriate Sawday’s too

The starting salary for this position is dependent upon the candidate’s
level of experience. £18k to £22k
Essential:

Experience/knowledge










2+ years consumer marketing experience
Proven track record of planning and executing social media
campaigns – of having grown engaged communities across all key
social channels: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest
Strong digital marketing experience, understands digital
production processes well and has used a range of tools to support
digital campaigns, including SEO and PPC
Tracking and analysis of campaign data and excellent working
knowledge GA
Good practical knowledge of CMS systems
Marketing and email automation tools (e.g. Mandrill, Mailchimp)
Familiarity with other online data capture tools (e.g. Formstack,
SurveyMonkey)
Basic understanding of SEO principles and processes
Budget management and ROI
Project Management
Desirable:

Has worked on end-to-end campaigns and has worked closely with
design teams, on time and to budget
Travel brand experience

Qualifications
Good knowledge of and passionate interest in new and emerging
marketing technologies
Good portfolio of past campaigns/content and creative projects in
digital and social channels
Some experience of managing print work and knowledge of print
production processes
Ability to carry out simple image manipulation in Photoshop
CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce)
Essential:
 Educated to a degree level or equivalent

 Marketing Degree
Professional Qualification in Marketing e.g. CIM
