Vice President of Marketing Santa Clara, CA COMPANY Green Charge is the pioneer and leader in intelligent energy storage, providing energy cost savings to businesses, schools, and cities across the country. Energy efficiency is a decades-old initiative and the next wave of innovation will come from energy storage as the nucleus. Green Charge empowers businesses to better control their energy use and reduce their monthly electric costs. Green Charge was founded in 2009 and installed the first commercial/industrial intelligent energy storage system in 2011 providing 7-Eleven an energy cost cutting solution while also providing the local utility, ConEd, the ability to control distributed energy resources to help reduce stress on the electricity network during peak periods. Since the initial project, Green Charge has rolled out to other 7-Eleven stores in New York and California. In 2013, Green Charge introduced the Power Efficiency Agreement, the industry’s first no-cost, shared savings financing model, which has been well received by the market place and Green Charge now has over 80 energy storage systems in production across the country. Green Charge is privately funded. In July 2014, Green Charge secured $56 million from K Road DG and Intel Capital founder George Coelho. Portfolio customers include Walgreens, Kohls, Safeway, UPS, Mountain View- Los Altos Unified School District, and industrial facilities across five utilities around the country (SDG&E, SCE, PG&E, Con Edison, and Silicon Valley Power). In 2015, Green Charge announced industry first partnerships including: Nissan to deploy second-life lithium-ion vehicle batteries for stationary commercial energy storage in the U.S. and international markets. Sun Edison to combine solar and energy storage throughout California. ChargePoint to combine EV charging with energy storage to offset spikes in energy use caused by fast DC charging. Green Charge delivers industry leading savings, up to 20 percent, of monthly energy bills and provides no cost financed energy storage and software optimized energy usage to reduce demand charges, optimize use of solar generation, control the energy impact of electric vehicle charging, and provide local utilities relief to their networks when needed.
