I assumed the position of Vice President Consumer Products and General Manager of the San Diego operation, which included managing the product development, manufacturing and quality programs for our factories in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Japan and Malaysia, with yearly telephone manufacturing volumes exceeding one million telephones. G-Tek's manufacturing volume was over 60 million dollars (FOB) per year, manufacturing telecommunications. Wolverine Telephone Products, Inc. President & CEO May 1983 to March 1989 San Diego, California Ann Arbor, Michigan Wolverine Telephone Products was a manufacturer of small business telephone systems. In the first year of business, we found funding for the company, established offshore manufacturing operations, sold over 80,000 telephones to Radio Shack, established a network of manufacturers sales representatives. Contel/Executone, Inc. Technical Operations Manager April 1981 to May 1983 San Diego, California Atlanta, Georgia Contel/Executone manufactured business communications telephone systems and hospital communications systems. Contel/Executone had yearly sales of over $190 million at that time, of which over half was handled by the San Diego facility. As Technical Operations Manager, with a staff of over 100 employee’s, my responsibilities included: test engineering, industrial engineering, quality control, quality assurance, security and maintenance for the San Diego facility. XYCOM, Inc. Manufacturing and Manufacturing Technologies Manager December 1972 to April 1981 Ann Arbor, Michigan My career began in the computer industry. Xycom manufactured industrial microcomputer products for customers including: General Motors, Ford, Goodyear, GE and others. One year after joining Xycom, I was promoted to Supervisor, in the product test department. Three years later, I was promoted to Manufacturing Supervisor and then to Manufacturing Manager, responsible for a 150-person production team. After serving a year as Manufacturing Manager, with the company’s rapid growth I was promoted to the position of Manufacturing Technologies Manager to support the company’s growth objectives with production automation and technology. Education Graduated in 1972 from the Radio Communications Electronics program at GASC in Flint Michigan. Experience includes small and large companies, from product development, manufacturing to sales and marketing.
