AN ADVENTURE ACROSS THE ATLANTIC Lindy Duncan Day 1 King Morolda has gathered 205 of his best men. He wants to expand his trading and wealth beyond Little Silver and Markham Place. We have been on the boat for about 4 hours. I’m Joe Perscute and I am the captain on the boat. The seas are rough but I know we can reach our destination. The three ships will be going through Atlantic Ocean. Our destination is to discover an unknown island in the Atlantic ocean. This will be one of the hardest journeys that King Morolda and Spain has ever taken on. Day 11 The days are going by very slowly but we all still have hope the work is getting harder because the seas are getting worse. I hope all of the men make it back safely to there homes and there families. But I know that might not happen, most likely most of us will not make it home to Little Silver and Spain. Day 23 All of the crew members are getting frustrated with each other. This is probably going to get worse. We are running out of chickens and other stored foods. The seas are calming down. There are been very little sights of scurvy but nothing major. Some of the crew members are saying the saw a huge shark and small sharks. This might become very good or really bad journey. Day 45 There have been 18 fights among the crew members. There was no bad cuts though. The scurvy is hitting a lot of the crew members. The scurvy has had 12 deaths which means there is only 193 people at the most will come home to there lives and families from this journey. It is towards the end of the day now and I am sitting on the deck when all of the sudden I hear boom! Pirates are attacking! We get our bombs and shoot! We have a hit and sink there ship. We now only have 163 people on the two ships after that one sunk. Day 63 We have been having the long dreadful days. This is just like any other day. Ten more crew members die from scurvy. But then we all hear land ho! All of the crew members rush to the deck . As we all see the island we were looking for. We stopped the boat and hoped into the smaller boats to go to shore. We set up camp I am set up under a tree. We all explore the island. Some of us find a fruit. It is a red yellow color and a yellow inside. We also found a strange fish. It was gray and thin but red on the inside. we are going to call it a red fish. We also found a crop that we named small tree because it looks a small tree. Day 79 We have spent 6 days on this island. It has been rough but we have only had 2 deaths on scurvy. We have gone on to name the island Morolda Island. We will also head back on the ships in 2 days. We will bring the fruit home to Little Silver and have King Morolda II name the fruit. We all hope to have a nice uneventful journey back home to Spain. Day 86 We have been on the ship for 12 days. It has been very smooth. The ships have only had 8 more deaths. Now we only have 154 people left on the two ships. We have calculated we have about 30 more days left. But it might be more if there is rough seas. Day 101 We have been on the ship for a very long time. It has been a little over 3 months and about 20 days. It has been a long journey. We have had about 28 more deaths. This only leaves us with 126 people left on the two ships. We all hope we get there very soon. Day 116 It is an early morning but by 12 o’clock we see the shore of Spain. We all are happy to see our friends and family. King Morolda is going to set up a trade center there. He will send 4 boats in the next year. He also renamed Morolda Island to King Morolda II Island. We have come to realize that this island is near the Isamas of Panama. We know this Island as Key West. King Morolda has now named the fruit sun fruit because of its yellow red color. We now know this fruit as a mango. We now know the small tree as broccoli and the fish as salmon.
