Course Description
• In this course, students will improve their reading
skills through study and discussion of magazine
and journal articles of varying lengths related to
important issues in different spheres of human
life.
• A wide variety articles to be read and discussed
would be related to important issues in politics,
economics, arts, fashion, education,
environment protection, sports, etc.
• Emphasis will be placed on developing a deep
understanding of text structure and on
developing micro- and macro-reading skills,
• so that relevant information can be found quickly
and effectively, without the need for translation
into the native language.
• The students will learn how to present the main idea of
an article and mark off the passages of the article that
seem important to them,
• to state the main problem discussed in the article,
• to give summary of an article,
• to state the questions, which remained unanswered in
the article,
• to speak on the conclusion the author comes to and
• to interpret the title of an article.
