Hospitality Lodging Management Program 2nd edition- $50.00 Mrs Denham Course Description Hospitality Management is a program that introduces high school juniors and seniors to careers in Hospitality service field and teaches them the basic skills and knowledge they need for success in the lodging industry. This is an industry driven curriculum that culminates in a certificate exam. The exam is offered and acknowledged by the American Hotel and Lodging association and is recognized nationwide. The classes encourage high school students to experience all aspects of operating and managing a lodging establishment, and also help students build good business and management skills. Students should be good readers and have a good grasp of fractions and percents. Students should have a notebook for this class. Course Goals: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Grading-- Discuss and classify various types of lodging establishments, their organizational structure and importance of customer services. Explore various careers in the Hospitality industry. Demonstrate an understanding of the guest cycle in the hotel industry. Demonstrate the ability to make a reservation, register a guest, check out a guest and perform the night audit. Discuss the challenges of housekeeping management and offer solutions to various problems. Identify the steps in the guestroom cleaning process and the evaluation of employees who do the work. When a student is missing on the day of a quiz or test the grade is recorded as a zero at that time. When and if the work is made up within the Week, the grade will be changed. Failing grade- If the students grade remains failing for 10 consecutive days the parent will be contacted either by email or a phone call.
