Victoria Place Redevelopment Area HOUSING RESOURCE CENER Downtown Government Offices Paradise Park Commercial Corridor Professional / Medical Office School Multi-Use Trail (existing) Redevelopment Planning Process During the initial meetings, it was decided that there are likely many areas throughout Thomasville that could benefit from redevelopment activities. However, because of practicality and feasibility, it was decided that the group should focus its efforts on identifying and improving an area in need that was closest to the City’s urban core and downtown district in an effort to continue to establish vibrant, mixed-income, mixed-use, walkable neighborhoods that would add to the vibrancy of the urban core. Visual surveys of the city by the City of Thomasville Planning Department and concerned citizens identified the neighborhood surrounding Victoria Place was both in need of redevelopment and, once redevelopment was completed, would accomplish the identified goals.
