In this project I have presented how practically the HR Management is done in organization, this project report does not have complete information about HR Management but have some of the part of HR focused in Swastic Chemical work. I would like to thank our teacher Mr. Naresh Shrestha for providing opportunity to present this report. This report has helped us to know how actually HR Management is done in organization. I also want to thank founder of Swastic Chemical Work Mr. Pradip Shrestha for providing me information about how HR Management works in his business. Human Resource Management (HRM) Human Resource Management (HRM) is an essential function of management. Human resource Management is concerned with people element in organizations. It is a systems approach to management of human energy and competencies in organizational settings to improve the productive contribution of people. Organization Effectiveness largely depends on the performance of people working in organization. Better people achieve better results. . There we can found many definitions of Human Resource Management (HRM). However, According to DeCenzo and Robbins “Human resource Management (HRM) is a process consisting of four functions – acquisition, development, motivation and maintenance of human resource.” Therefore Human Resource Management (HRM) is an approach consisting of four basic Functions: 1. 2. 3. 4. Staffing Training and development Motivation and Maintenance of human resource In less academic term, we might say that HRM is made up of four activities: 1. 2. 3. 4. Getting People Preparing them Stimulating them and Keeping them Therefore, HRM is concerned with attainment of qualitative as well as quantitative aspects of human resources and use it maximally for achieving organizational goal while simultaneously fulfilling their aspirations as well. ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE OF SWASTIC CHEMICAL WORKS Swastic chemical is in market of Nepal since 15 years its main product is production of coconut oil. It imports raw materials from India and Malaysia, production is done inside valley and sales are done mostly in Kathmandu, and China boarder. HUMAN RESOURCE STRATEGY: Talking about human resource Swastic formally does not have a separate department for human resource. The policy and strategy needed for Human resource management is done informally. But it has certain criteria for selection of employees like interview. HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM A system is unified whole composed of inter-related and interacting parts to achieve desired goals. Human resource management system consists of : Input Processing Output It provides framework for integrating the various components within the HR system. It links HRM with larger organizational system. It has both internal and external environment. It is a open system which is made up of various other subsystem. Staffing We know that in staffing HRM is concerned with seeking and hiring qualified employees it consists: i. Job analysis ii. Recruitment iii. Selection In Swastic chemical works, the staffing is done by ability or knowledge of job applicant. Interview and practical testing of candidate is done before selecting the job candidate and best candidate is selected if the criteria set by the manager are fulfilled. 2. Training and Development of Human Resource Training and development activities in HRM is concerned with assisting employees to develop up to date skills, knowledge and abilities. Training and development helps the employee in career development and enhance their skill. In Swastic the training and development phase start after the very next day the employee joins. The training and development time is about 4-6 months. Employees are trained to use the machines and equipments. 3. Motivating Human Resource Motivation is one of the important components of HRM. Motivation is concerned with helping exert at high energy levels. Motivation is force that impels one to work. There may be different factor of motivation to employee to some motivation may be money to some motivation may be status or position etc. there are different theories and different theories are applied in different situation. In Swastic the motivation factor is applied according to the nature or desire of employee. There is practice of reward also. Deserving employees are given chance in decision making also which is one of the factors of motivation. Employees working overtime are also given extra money which also motivate them to work more and employee working in holiday are given double money this help to reduce absenteeism trend among the employees. 4. Maintenance We have invested money, time and effort by following the component presented above so maintenance of human resource is must. It is concerned with maintaining employee’s commitment and loyalty to the organization. Employees are maintained in organization by safety and health issue like by providing the health facilities to employees and to their family members also. Another important issue is employee relation i.e. Cordial relation between management and employees, discipline i.e. Control, no bias, implementation of discipline, grievance handling i.e. How to handle grievances of employees or dissatisfaction of employees. In Swastic human resource are maintained by providing grievance handling and by employee relation. This factor helps a lot in maintenance of employees.
