 What is a monograph?
 A short (5-10 pages) historical document
on a specific topic in CAP history
 Consult CAPP 5 for guidance on how to
prepare a monograph
Historical Monographs
 Submit your first draft to the CAP Monograph
Editor
 The Monograph Editor will then coordinate
any changes required or recommendations
suggested with the author
 The Monograph Editor will then submit the
monograph to the National Historical Editor
for coordination with the National Editorial
Board
 The monograph will be published online
once the author, Editor and Editorial Board
members are in agreement on the final
version and the monograph is approved by
the Chief Historian
