In this class, the goal is to teach the kids and make them excel at reading and writing the Arabic alphabet by the end of the 1 st quarter.
Sr. Duaa
After the kids have excelled the first level by recognizing reading and writing the Arabic letters, they will get introduced to more involved matters. They will learn to connect words, and recognize the letters at the beginning, middle and ending. Also, they learn how to read the word with the exact Harakats on the letter; in addition of introducing basic vocabulary.
Moreover, all kids will go over the Qaidah Albaghdadiya to excel the reading of the holy Quran.
Sr. Safaa
After being introduced to the Arabic alphabet and sound system of the language, the kids will start learning Arabic in a structured and systemic manner.
They will learn to construct basic sentences and get introduced to the basic Arabic grammar.
Sr. Hanaa
In this level, the kids will be using the second level textbook, which have been designed resting on the concept of "field of activities". Within each unit are seven to eight 'to the point' lessons dealing with conversational Arabic, reading, vocabulary and linguistic structures, applied grammar, spelling and dictation, review and reinforcement and finally cultural enrichment.
Br. Omar
In this level, kids are learning more in depth Arabic grammar and sentence structure. Some of the topics include Idafah, prepositional phrases, plurals, dual forms of nouns, and verbs, active participles, conditional structures and more, as well as practice in learning new structures, vocabulary words, and grammar rules.
Also, the students will be able to know how to write paragraphs read and write texts and know how to make a conversation.
Sr. Amany
The Level 1 Islamic Studies book from Weekend Learning is for 5-7 year old children.
The kids will learn about Allah, the Qur’an, Islam, Rasulullah (S), the Hadith and
Sunnah and 5-pillars of Islam and so forth. The idea is to cover the basics of Islam. For example, 6 lessons cover the concepts of 5-pillars, 5 lessons cover short introduction to 5 rasuls and nabis, 9 lessons cover Islamic values and morals.
Sr. Erica & Sr. Eeman
The Level 3 Islamic Studies book from Weekend Learning is for Ideally, 7-10-year old, elementary grade students. This class will spark the students’ inquisitiveness. For example, what does Allah do, why we do salah, how Rasulullah (S) treated others and so forth. Students will learn different names of Allah, understand mercy of Allah, learn additional names of the Qur’an, and the types of salah. The concept of 5-pillars of
Islam is reintroduced with additional emphasis. In addition to learning short history of some of the prophets, students will also learn an outline of the Makkah and Madinah periods of Rasulullah’s (S) life. Several lessons discuss importance of good deeds, forgiveness, cleanliness, perseverance and other Islamic values and morals.
Sr. Ubaida
With the progress through Islamic Studies curriculum, students will be introduced to additional new topics with greater depth. We will introduce a short summary of the
Makkah and Madinah periods of Rasūlullāh’s (S) life. In this book, several lessons describe many key events from the life of Rasūlullāh (S). we will go over condition of pre-Islamic Arabia, Year of the Elephants, early life of Rasūlullāh (S), receipt of prophethood, Pledges of Aqabah, Hijrat to Madinah, overall life in Madinah and
Liberation of Makkah. A summarized life of the Rightly Guided Khalifah is also introduced along with a short biography of some of the prophets. Islamic values and morals are continued to be addressed.
Sr. Hind
Also, for all levels, several Duaas from Quran and from Sunnah will be memorized.
