Circulatory System Summary Blood Vessels: Parts of the System: • • • • •Pulmonary (lungs) •Coronary (heart) •Systemic (other) Arteries Veins Capillaries Sinusoids Path of a Red Blood Cell Circulatory System Activity Composition of Blood Blood is made up of: Plasma: •Pale yellow fluid •Composed of mostly water, with small amounts of protein •Average of 2-3 liters of plasma in the human body •Carry nutrients and wastes to their respected places throughout the body Red Blood Cells: •250 million RBC in a drop of blood •Contain a protein named hemoglobin •RBC carry gasses used in respiration throughout the body Composition of blood cont.
