Solicitation of Bid for Standing Timber
You are invited to bid on standing timber owned by Mitch Pollock. The timber is located on 54 acres
between New Haven, MO and Beaufort, MO just west of Hwy 185. Take Hwy 185 north from Beaufort,
MO to the intersection of Hwy KK, turn left (west) on Hwy KK and go for about 100 yards, then right
(north) on Samson Road. The southwest corner of the Pollock property is on the right (east of Samson
Road) about a quarter mile north of Hwy KK.
The trees to be sold are marked with orange paint at eye level and at ground level. The timber sale area
covers the entire ownership. There are some cedar trees marked with orange paint which are not being
sold. All property boundaries are well marked with fence posts, PVC pipe and plastic ribbon. There are
some wet weather streams running through the tract that will need to be protected as well as a lake
site. The terrain is relatively flat and access is easy off Samson Road.
Volume estimates show 87,109 board feet Doyle scale, or 124, 805 board feet International ¼ Inch scale
of mixed hardwoods in 975 trees. See the back side of this sheet for a summary of volume by species
and diameter. This is a good quality mixed hardwood stand with a lot of stave grade white oak and a
few veneer grade trees. There are also seven black walnut trees to be sold which are numbered 1
through 7 with orange paint and marked at the ground level. The black walnut volume estimate is 870
board feet Doyle scale, 335 board feet of which is estimated to be of veneer quality. There are
approximately 100 of the 975 trees that have been recently dozed for a lake site. The dozed trees are
located side by side with easy access for skidding. They are NOT in a large windrow. One of the black
walnut trees is in this group of dozed trees. All volumes and quality statements are estimates and not
guaranteed. Bidders should determine volume and value and bid accordingly.
Payment in full for the timber will be due at signing of the timber sale contract. Contract signing will be
required within 2 weeks of the bid opening. All timber shall be removed by August 30, 2014.

A showing of the timber will be conducted on April 2, 2014. Meet at the Voss Market in Beaufort, MO

Lump sum, sealed bids are due on or before April 11, at 5:00 PM. No telephone bids will be accepted.
