Claim rejected- Evidence Insufficient
Dear $FORENAME,
I am sorry to hear of your circumstances.
I am writing to you further to your submission of an Exceptional Circumstances Claim,
($CLAIMNO of $CLDATE). The evidence that you submitted in support of your claim was
insufficient to confirm the impact on your performance in assessment:
$REJASSMNT
To qualify, your evidence must demonstrate that the circumstances were sudden,
unforeseen, and temporarily impacted on your ability to undertake your assessment.
Consequently, the Exceptional Circumstances Sub-Committee rejected your claim.
Please refer to the Examination and Assessment Regulations Handbook (regulations 1.7
and 2.7) for further information about Exceptional Circumstances Claims. The Exceptional
Circumstances Claims FAQs should answer any specific questions that you have. Both
documents are available at:

Examples of rejected claims and evidence (an opportunity to submit additional evidence will
be given) (extract from regulation 2.7.6(iii)(b)):

In accordance with regulation 2.7.6(vi) additional evidence in support of this claim may be
submitted within 21 days of the date of this letter. Any new evidence should be provided in
advance of the Progression and Award Board. New evidence should be sent via email to
