Primary 6: Old Testament, (1996), 6Lesson 2 (Enter name here) Last week we learned about the plan of salvation. Let’s put these cutouts in the correct order, beginning with “Premortal Life.” What do you remember about each step in Heavenly Father’s plan? We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression. Enrichment Activity 3 Jesus Christ was chosen in the premortal life to be our Savior. We chose to accept him as our Savior. There was a war in Heaven between those who chose Christ’s plan and those who chose Satan’s. Agency is the ability and privilege given to us by Heavenly Father to choose and act for ourselves. We can use our agency to choose right or wrong, but we are responsible for our decisions. Pray Attend church Lie Be happy at home Steal or cheat Be kind to a new neighbor Be reverent in church Obey the Word of Wisdom Love others - receive Heavenly Father’s help learn the gospel others will not trust you home is a better place lose the help of the Holy Ghost make a new friend feel Heavenly Father’s Spirit have good health others will love you Enrichment Activity 2 Let’s read Moses 4:1–2 When Heavenly Father asked his spirit children whom he should send to be our Savior, what was the difference between Jesus’ response and Lucifer’s response? How did Lucifer want to change Heavenly Father’s plan? Let’s read Moses 4:1, 3 To help you imagine what it might be like to live under Lucifer’s plan, for the next few minutes you must do exactly what I say and nothing else. You cannot talk. Stand and remain standing perfectly still until I tell you otherwise. I will now tell each of you where to sit. You will not sit anywhere other than where I tell you. You must sit up straight, feet flat to the floor, looking straight ahead, not moving or speaking. Hold this position until I tell you otherwise. You may now stand again and sit where you want. Enrichment Activity 1 What would it be like to live under Lucifer’s plan? Lucifer wanted us to do exactly as we were told, without being able to decide for ourselves. Why wouldn’t his idea have worked? How did you feel when you were told to do only what I told you to do? How would you feel if you were forced to do exactly what you were told to do all day every day? I am grateful for the blessing of agency. Let’s read Moses 4:2 Why did he reject Satan’s offer? Let’s read Moses 4:3 Let’s read Revelation 12:7 What happened to Lucifer and the spirits who followed him? Let’s read Revelation 12:8–9 D&C 29:36–37 D&C 76:25–27 Abraham 3:28 What kind of bodies do the spirits who followed Lucifer have? They rebelled and were cast out of heaven, they will never be able to be born on the earth and have physical bodies. What are these spirits trying to do now? Let’s read Moses 4:4 Let’s read Matthew 26:41 3 Nephi 18:18 a. A friend encourages you to steal from the store. b. You are about to buy a ticket to a movie when you see an advertisement showing that it is not an appropriate movie. c. Several neighborhood children are unkind to a child. d. You see someone tormenting an animal. Enrichment Activity 4 What happens to those who follow Satan in this life? Let’s read Alma 30:60 What happens to those who choose to follow Jesus Christ? Let’s read 2 Nephi 31:20 What happened to the spirits who followed Heavenly Father and Jesus? How do you know that in the premortal life you chose to follow Jesus? What can you do to follow Jesus now? Why did Heavenly Father and Jesus want us to have our agency? Why is it so important that we use our agency to choose the right? Let’s read 2 Nephi 2:27 1. I know my Father lives and loves me too. The Spirit whispers this to me and tells me it is true, And tells me it is true. 2. He sent me here to earth, by faith to live his plan. The Spirit whispers this to me and tells me that I can, And tells me that I can. Words and music: Reid N. Nibley, b. 1923. © 1969. Arr. by Reid N. We should all use our agency wisely by choosing the right.
