Mitosis and Meiosis “Tic-Tac-Toe”
1. Work on your own, with a partner, or in a group of 3.
2. Choose three activities from the “game board” below. They MUST form a straight
line in any direction. (Horizontal, vertical, or diagonally!)

depicting either mitosis
OR meiosis. Include
captions, dialogue, etc. in
your comic strip. It’s a
COMIC strip- try to
make it funny/witty! This
should be neat and
colorful.
Pick two different stages
from the same process. (So
either 2 mitosis stages OR 2
meiosis stages). Make a Venn
Diagram comparing and
contrasting these two stages.
Include at least 6 bullet points
in your diagram.
Write a journal entry from
the point of view of a cell
going through cell division.
Describe his/her thoughts
about going through the
process. Tell what the
purpose of dividing is for the
cell. You can do either mitosis
or meiosis! (Minimum 6-8
sentences).

Decide whether you think
mitosis or meiosis is a more

why you think that. Support
your argument with facts
about the method. (Minimum
6-8 sentences).
Pretend you are running an
amusement park. All of the
rides are built to resemble
structures or tools found in a
dividing cell. Pick 3 tools or
structures, and create a
guidebook describing each
ride and what it does. Include
pictures for each ride.

Write one sentence or
statement for each letter to
describe what happens in
that stage. (Similar to an
acrostic poem.)
