Summer 2009: VBI
Virginia Bioinformatics Institute (VBI) is a
research institute dedicated to the study of the biological
sciences. The research platform of VBI focuses on the
"disease triangle" of host-pathogen-environment
interactions.

Program
• Summer Research Internship for many
disciplines, including several health and
medical related areas
• 10 weeks: May 24 – July 31
• $2,500 stipend, room & meal plan, GRE

MAOP Opportunity in
Veterinary Medicine
• Opportunity to explore research and
hands-on training in Veterinary Medicine
• Veterinary Medicine not only taking care
of cats and dogs; but includes many
practical applications to the
medical/health professions
• Typically supports up to 5 students with
interest in a career in Veterinary
Medicine or related field
MAOP Opportunity in
VCOM
• Research Internships in the Virginia
College of Osteopathic Medicine
(VCOM)
• Hands-on experiences in a medical
environment through research

• New opportunity exclusively for 3-5
