A Peek at the Week

Happy Valentine’s Day! “We love because He first loved us.” ~ I John 4:19
It’s a short school week for the kids. Remember that there is not school this Friday or next
Monday. This Friday the teachers have an inservice day and on Monday it is mid-winter break.
We will have our classroom Valentine’s Day celebration on Thursday. If your child is bringing
cards or treats, be sure they include everyone. A list of the 3rd and 4th graders is on the back of this
note (it really is this time! ).
Some of you scheduled parent-teacher conferences for Thursday evening. I’m looking forward
to meeting with you.
Please notice that Bible memory and spelling tests will be on Thursday this week.
Blessings on your week!

Math
Both groups are coming to the end of their
math units. That means both groups will be
ready for assessments this week.
rd
3 graders have a unit review sheet to do by
tomorrow. I’ll look it over and decide if they
are ready for their assessment, or if there are
skills that still need work.
4th graders will bring home their review
tomorrow or Wednesday. They should be
ready for an assessment Wednesday or
Thursday.
Science
We’re wrapping up our unit about matter
with a project this week. Watch for
information about a test next week.
Bible
We continue our unit Forty Years in the Wilderness. Last week we learned a lot about the
tabernacle and the symbolism of the parts of the building and the furnishings. This week we will
learn about God’s instructions for how the Israelites were to worship Him. We’ll learn about
tabernacle worship and the feasts. They kids will learn that they all point to Christ!
Bible memory is Psalm 135:10-12, due this Thursday. We’re learning it in bits and pieces, but by
the end of the year, we will have learned the entire Psalm.
Remember to check and sign your child’s planner sheet each evening.
