APPENDIX 1.4 CADRE LAB GUDIANCE TO ANNEX A TO OPERATIONS ORDER NO. 01-15 INSTRUCTIONS: The following is the established Cadre guidance for labs for the spring 2015 semester. This guidance will be reflected in the CUBs/BUBs and training meetings. The guidance is based on the semester goals established in ANNEX A. In addition, guidance derives from the base order commander’s intent, manual of common tasks, Army METL, and Army doctrine. It is the responsibility of the c/BN XO and c/BN S3 to still seek additional guidance as this may change throughout the semester based on previous lab training. Training Focus: Collective: Raid, Ambush, MTC, Attack, Recon. Individual: Leader development, critical thinking, problem solving, mission command, and warrior tasks. Initial Guidance: Lab Event 1 Land Navigation Critical Tasks Find 5/5 points; Plotting, Pace Count, Azimuth Check, Individual course, Map Reading 2 Recon Sand Table, TEWT, Rehearsals. MSIII- Plan unit move. Conduct a tactical movement, prepare duty roster, develop sector sketch, and occupy an assembly area. Establish priorities of work, 4-man stack. Establish security measures. MSIIs- Conducts night movement, ensures light and noise discipline, camouflage Soldiers and equipment, MSIs-moves during limited visibility, maintains self-sufficiency, uses chemlights, use terrain to avoid detection, conducts priority of work. MSIVs- Establish lanes, OPFOR, and lab resources, MSIII-, Break contact, control organic fires, emplace teams MSIIs-Supervise casualty treatment and evacuation, control a movement, account for personnel, MSIs-report causalities, MSIVs- Critical Analysis, Time Management MSIII- Request medical evacuation, MSIIs-Establish security at halt, MSIs-move over or through obstacles. Dismount a vehicle, perform search, first aid MSIVs- Develop an effective team, supervise operations, assess and evaluate. Mentor MSIII- Decision Making, Problem- Solving, team building. MSIs-fire an M4, dry fire a weapon, assembles, disassemble a weapon, fire positions, and correct malfunctions. MSIVs- Planning Innovation, Lanes development and set up, communication, MSIII- Judgment, Confident, Develop a Plan, Accountability, Acts and Reports, control movement, Consolidate and Reorganize. MSIIs-Make it happen, Inspect Team, Team movement, cover and concealment MSIs-occupy cover and concealment, return fire, move under fire, IMT, hand and arm signals. MSIVs- Planning Innovation, Lanes development and set up, communication, MSIII- Judgment, Confident, Develop a Plan, Accountability, Acts and Reports, control movement, Consolidate and Reorganize. MSIIs-Make it happen, Inspect Team, Team movement, cover and concealment MSIs-occupy cover and concealment, return fire, move under fire, IMT, hand and arm signals. To have fun and give out awards. Evaluations and Assessments (E&A): E&A will be conducted using blue, green, and yellow cards as will through the mentorship program and AARs. E&A will be provided the following Monday following Lab to provide the MSIVS enough time to adequately fill in the cards to provide the best feedback to the MSIII and IIs. Upon the completion of the Cadet E&A and approved by the Cadre, the cards will be placed in the cadet folder filed by the c/S1. To ensure the Cadet receive an E, O, or S the Cadet must meet the minimum established in the Critical and Leader Tasks. Without the assigned tasks being accomplished the mission will fail and leader failed to properly execute the TLPs and learning objectives established in ANNEX A and formal academic class instructions. 3
