The most common way to turn a sentence into a question is to place the particle 吗 at the end of the sentence. 呢 is the modal particle. It is used after a noun, pronoun, or phrase to turn the sentence into a question. 是 is a linking verb. It acts like an equal sign between nouns, pronouns, or noun and pronoun. 也 is an adverb place before a verb. 也 cannot be placed at the beginning or end of a sentence. Chinese sentences usually consist of a subject and a predicate. e.g., 你好. 好 is an adjective. In Chinese, adjective are stative verbs that can be used as a predicate. 你,我,她(他) are pronouns. 不 is an adverb. It is used to form a negative.
