Warm Up Tuesday, January 26th 1. Pull up your SRE EasyBib work so that I can see it (and so you can refer to it). Now look at the brainstorm organization of your idea (in your journal). Do you still feel comfortable with this "outline?" Why/why not? 2. What research do you still need? Use your EasyBib work and your "outline" to answer this. 3. What questions/problems are you having with your work? Be specific. Learning Targets: 1. To collect research and to refine the focus of research by using the preplanned outline and notecards from EasyBib as a reference. 2. To plan out an outline using EasyBib. 3. To scrutinize work carefully in order to anticipate any problems that you may encounter in drafting out your essay. 4. To redo/resubmit Homework II. 5. To show Mrs. Lackland your journal if you haven’t already. Outlines • • • • This week, we are working on our outlines. If done properly, the outline will serve as a ready and thorough guide to the writing of our research essays (next week). Not only will be build them through EasyBib, but we will perfect them. We will identify the scope of each paragraph, note what information we have placed within it, work on organization of paragraphs, acquisition of the best research possible, etc. To do this correctly will take these four days in the lab. To hold you accountable, you will fill out a daily progress sheet in Google Classroom. Outline on EasyBib http://www.easybib.com/ HW II & Journal Check If you scored a 7 or below for HW II, you must redo it. This is because learning how to follow a format (and instructions) EXACTLY is very important when employing MLA formatting. USE THE MODEL PROVIDED WITH THE ASSIGNMENT IN ORDER TO DO IT CORRECTLY. If you were absent last week and would like a grade for your journal, please be sure to show it to me today. Homework 1. A formal Works Cited sheet of all the research you intend to use.
