INTRODUCTION
Attention Grabber: The lion doesn’t lose sleep over the opinions of the sheep. This means that the lion has enough confidence not to let the sheep effect the lion’s thinking. Hello. My name is
Felicia Pursner. Today I will be talking to you about how to be confident in your own skin.
BODY
I.
First Major Point
First, you have to stop comparing yourself to others. The moment you start comparing yourself to others is the moment you lose confidence in yourself. As Theodore Roosevelt once said, comparison is the thief of joy. Everyone is unique; it is totally unfair to compare yourself to others. Everyone doesn’t like something about themselves; you may just not know it. In sports, you just need to do your personal best. For example, my coach always says it’s just you and the pool. You may think that someone is better looking, has better material items, or have a better life in general. Famous people have so much makeup, photo shop, and many other things to make themselves look a certain way; you probably wouldn’t even recognize them if you saw them behind the scenes. If the person is someone you know in person, they have flaws just like you and me.
II.
Second Major Point
Next, you have to do what you want. What matters most is how you see yourself. As Dr.
Suess once said, today you are you, and that is truer than true, there is no one alive who is you-er than you!
You don’t have to be like everyone else. Normal is sooo boring. Emma Watson said, there’s nothing interesting about being perfect. Dress the way you want to. Say what’s on your mind. Act like yourself. Be proud of how you are. Be happy of you being you.
III.
Third Major Point
Last, you have to believe in yourself. Easier said than done. You don’t have to shy away from doing your best. Try your hardest in everything you do because I know you can do it!
Believe in yourself, you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter that you think. Have faith in yourself because you are capable of anything you want. I promise. As
Audrey Hepburn once said, nothing is impossible; the word itself says I’m possible. So just think positively and try your best
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, stop comparing and start believing in yourself. Also, be unique because everyone else is already taken.
Clincher: In order to be confident, you need to be true to you and not mind what others think.
