INSTRUCTIONS AND RUBRIC: REFLECTIONS
1. From the onset of this project, document your feelings, experiences and “a-ha” moments. This will be an invaluable
tool later when you go to write your reflection.
2. After your group has rehearsed the Pitch Presentation, write a 1½ - 2 page (minimum), type written, 12pt font, doublespaced reflection that documents your learning and experiences participating in this project. Here are some things
that may help get you started:
-what did I know about design before this project?
-what did I want to learn about design? – did I learn it?
-which designer did I want to be and why?
-am I happy with my design, why/why not?
-how well did my group collaborate?
-how was the process of collaboration for me?
-did I enjoy this project?
-do you feel you have a better idea of what a designer
does and how?
-what were my thoughts/feelings/fears going into this
project?
TIPS FOR SUCCESS:
-Collaborate effectively throughout the project.
-Take it seriously – you’ll be sharing points.
-Share your contact information and communicate regularly.
-Work together to develop a concept EARLY. This way you are all on the same page.
-Use Power Point or a variety of materials to help convey your concept. (I.E., plots, cue sheets, color swatches,
instrument schedules, ground plans, audio snippets, cue descriptions, drawings, renderings, material swatches, pictures,
models, samples and anything else you think will help convey your concept.)
-Consult with me as often as needed with any questions, problems etc.
-Keep in mind that your group will be assessed as a unit; Take this project seriously because your fellow designers are!
I am expecting you to demonstrate that you did your best to convey a design concept that is well throughout.
