Adjunct Faculty (2003-2005) / Full time faculty (2005 – present) – Chemistry
Conduct lecture and laboratory courses in Chem 1000, Chem 1110, and Chem 1120. Developed
multimedia course material utilizing Idea Room, WEBCT and Momentum. Developed WEBCT and
Momentum enhancements for Chem 1110 and 1120. Provided support for laboratory chemical
preparations. Mentored students conducting honors projects. Served on safety, patents, and other
committees.

Using statistical methods, lead efforts to conduct training to improve the performance of processes and

Associate Executive Director - National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship
Support Program
Responsible for the start-up of a 3-year $12 million program. Hired and managed staff (35), secured
space, facilities, equipment, and computers for an accelerated (4 month) start-up operation. Designed and
managed a $500K sub-contracts for custom software development.
Assistant to the Vice President for Special Programs
Responsible for major corporate proposal development and involvement in long range planning, market
analysis, developing collaborative programs between universities and DOE laboratories and other federal
agencies, and other internal technical consulting activities within the corporation. Lead position in
proposal development efforts. Provided a leading role in cooperative efforts between industry, academia
and government facilities.
Program Director - Science/Engineering Education Division
Level 2 manager directing the planning, development, implementation, operation, and evaluations of
programs to provide technical assistance to academic, industrial, and research institutions in the areas of
global warming, environmental sciences, human genetics, artificial intelligence and energy research.
Developed programs to stimulate interest in science and mathematics (MathQuest). Organized regional
science bowl competitions and judged science fairs. Recruited and managed a staff of 12 with a budget of
about $6 million. Secured funding for and implemented new programs for Department of Energy,
Department of Defense, Environmental Protection Agency, and other sponsors, established policies and
procedures for these new endeavors.
Norden Systems, United Technologies
December 1982 - to February 1988:
Manager, Data Reduction and Analysis; Senior Systems Engineer
Responsible for putting into place a state of the art avionics data reduction package (107 Mbyte/sec) to
support flight test of a radar system in both lab and aircraft environments. Responsible for budget of over
5 million dollars including procurement of computer assets. Developed requirements, managed
fabrication and integration of multiplex bus test equipment (MIL-STD 1553B) hardware and software.
Managed vendors/consultants and interfaced with customers. Performed cost estimating, project planning
and vendor negotiations.
Senior Software Engineer
Performed the design and implementation of simulation software for radar system components. Managed
the software development of the Fire Direction and Survey Computer. Responsible for the software and
firmware to expand the memory of a battery operated field computer. Prepared technical proposals and
conducted negotiations. Interviewed, hired and supervised group of 15 professionals. Designed and
implemented simulation software.

Laboratory Planning Consultant
Performed sales and product training, sales, marketing, product management and market research support
for new product development (HPLC). Responsible for the design of extensive financial, technical and
sales forecasting software systems which improved revenues $ 12 million. Presented and coordinated
seminars at professional meetings. Responsible for proposal generation and customer evaluations.
Developed customer training programs.
Administrator of Corporate Information
Responsible for setting up and managing an information center. Provided an interface between MIS and
Corporate executive staff. Performed systems interface functions between marketing/sales with corporate
MIS. Managed a corporate worldwide financial consolidation system. Provided systems analysis for
streamlining financial data gathering. Responsible for the training of end-users. Responsible for the
development of software tools for the operation of a leasing instrument company.
