Job Description

National Minimum wage (depending on age) plus travel allowance

39 hours a week

JOB OVERVIEW

To assist the current mould maker in the production of cast and injection moulds.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Set up and operation of engine lathes, milling,grinding,drilling,sawing, surface grinding and boring machines to close tolerances.

CNC Design and CNC Operation

Injection and cast moulding production

Read and interpret blueprints and other product related diagrams, charts or tables.

Select mechanical measuring, checking and layout tools and devices and performing measuring checking and layout operations.

Operating hand and power tools

Selecting work piece materials, cutting tools and abrasives for metal removal

Repairing of moulds

Acquiring and using knowledge of metallurgy

Performing job duties with care and attention

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

5 GCSE passes (C or above) including English and Mathematics and Design Technology

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY

Keen eye for detail

Experience of completing tasks to deadlines

Experience in following instructions, procedures and policies

Be able to work effectively as a team member

Willingness to learn

Possess sound planning and organisational skills

Be able to work flexibly and meet deadlines

Good written and oral communication skills

Ability to work with a minimum of supervision
