MURMANSK REGION
Location: in the North-West of the European
part of Russia.
Almost the whole territory is located on the
Kola Peninsula, above the Arctic Circle.
The region is washed by the Barents Sea
and the White Sea.
Area – 144,9 thous. km²
(0,85 % of the total area of Russia)
In the West and the North-West it borders on
Finland and Norway, in the South-West –on
the Republic of Karelia.

Titanium (12%), Ferrum (15,6%), terres rares (0,67%), niobium/tantalum (0,22%)
 Scheduled to be introduced to subsoil
user at the tender in 2015;
 Raw materials reserves enough for 100
years (900 thous. tones of ore per year);
 End-products production at the first stage 50-55 thous. tones per year.
