Your Contributions Are Needed
At the moment, overall giving is running behind the
amounts that were anticipated. Some within our
community are unable to give but I ask that, if you
find it within your means during this Christmas
season, please consider making a year-end gift to
our General Fund, above and beyond what you had
planned. It does make a difference. Thank you for
your generosity and faithfulness to God’s mission
at Christ the King. If you have any questions, please
give me a call. Blessings! Jane Bishop
Please have all Annual Report articles turned into the church office or emailed to
jvevea@ctkb.org by January 11. Thank you! Please keep articles as concise as possible.

December Gift of Love - Families Moving Forward
“I appreciate the fact that I have my own bathroom. And that I don’t have to sleep on a
mat on the floor.” (on finding affordable housing)*
Families Moving Forward provides temporary emergency shelter, resources to find permanent
affordable housing, and supportive services to low income families with children. Over 40
congregations (including Christ the King) with more than 4,200 volunteers open their doors for a
week on a rotating basis, providing meals and overnight shelter. Each morning families are bused to
the Day Center at 1808 Emerson Avenue North, Minneapolis. Preschoolers spend the day there
while older children are taken to their schools. At the Day Center adults without work receive
assistance with job search, training, and finding permanent affordable housing.
Thanks to your generous offerings, expenses at Christ the King during our host weeks are provided
for in our church’s budget. The December Gift of Love offering will be sent to the Day Center to help
cover the many expenses they encounter helping families find a home.
Gift of Love offering envelopes are in the pew racks. Make your check out to Christ the King and
note Dec Gift of Love or Families Moving Forward on the memo line. (Families Moving Forward is a
program of Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative. *Quotes taken from BIHC web site)
