Week in Review
This week our activities were all about the zoo! We made a caged zoo animal in art and sorted zoo and farm animals in science. After reading the book,
“Dear Zoo” we wrote our own letters to the zoo asking for an animal. Throughout the week we read
Vowel friends: “ea” says e, like in leaf
Sci/Social Studies: Family and Holidays fiction and non- fiction zoo books, which helped us to write facts about different zoo animals. In math we continued number introduction for 16-20. We had a chance to visit the Star Lab. We loved seeing the constellations. Thanks Mr. Gingerich for teaching us
Math: Estimation, 100 days activities
Popcorn words: “one” and “red” about the stars! We continue to learn different strategies for being a good reading. We are using our
Vowel Friends to decode unfamiliar words.

-See how many steps it takes from your kitchen to your bedroom
-Hop as you count by 10s to 100
Our party is on February 12 th . Parents are welcome, but not obligated to attend.
Valentine cards are great way to practice name writing! Use this experience to practice writing first or first and last names.
HOWEVER, PLEASE DO NOT ADDRESS VALENTINE CARDS TO
A SPECIFIC STUDENT, AS CARDS WILL BE PASSED OUT
DOWN A LINE IN ORDER TO TAKE LESS TIME AWAY FROM
OUR FUN PARTY! Again, please have children only sign their own name. Also, it is easiest to pass out cards that are unisex. Valentine bags will be made at school so there is no need to send one in.
THANK YOU for helping make this experience FUN and
EDUCATIONAL! There are 21 students in your child’s class!
