This grade requires evidence of wider additional reading that supports the argument. To have teased out the major issues the student must demonstrate an understanding of the assigned readings and evidence of some additional literature. This is characterised by lists of ideas, rather than connected concepts. Individuals with learning difficulties do not normally meet these criteria. Assignment 4 - Group Report "iICT" in Place (30%) This assignment will be discussed early in the topic. The Group Wiki is a “real world report” for a specific organisation that will be offered access to a summary of the recommendations at the end of this topic. The opportunity to use current and emerging technologies to improve the lives of people with disabilities is the major focus of this assignment. Part a) Group Work plan due 15 May Part b) Group Report: iICT in Place (20%) due 1700 Sunday 30 May (Extension cannot be given on group activities) The report (Wiki) should not exceed 5,000 words including any appendices (aim the body to be around 3,000 words). The basis of UDL can be examined at www.CAST.org Assignment 6- Online Moderated Self-Assessment (20%) From 0600 Monday 16 June to 1800 22 June DSRS4102: Expectations will match AQF level 7 DSRS9064: Expectations will match AQF level 9 You will be asked if you have completed at least one posting and reply each week (as required in the SAM). You will be also asked when you posted to each "Outside the Square" and made your first reply to give you an indication if you were keeping up and not leaving everything to the last minute. You will also be asked to copy what you consider to be your best post. You will also be asked to rate your Input (not EFFORT) into the forums. Please remember at Higher Education level the grading in all assignments is based on output not effort (I always assume you have made your best effort). When you attended MNL or watched the recordings will also be asked to ensure that you record if you kept up to date. All this data is logged in the system, but the quickest way to find this is to look at the weekly 'Outside the Square' each posting has a time and date. You will know when you took part or saw MNL. Similar questions will be asked about when you did the weekly readings. I am able to see exact times of access for each reading, MNL recording and posting for each student if there are queries. But I would usually rely on your honestly. This exercise is a very good tool for your self-reflection about the topic. However be a little careful about the grade (/20) you give yourself, eg one post and one reply, watching MNL and doing the readings are the expectations of the topic and result in a Pass (10 to 12 marks) what would be considered to be Credit (13,14,15) Distinction (16,17), or High Distinction (18,19) would be based on additional output through extra reading postings etc. When all are entered I will moderate each of your suggestions looking at all others. I think you will need to allow about an hour to do this when it is released.
