ROLE PURPOSE / CONTEXT (primary purpose as relates to DSD strategic objectives) The Migration Promotions Officer is responsible for supporting the delivery of communication and promotion strategies, campaigns, events and online delivery channels, which underpins the effective promotion of Immigration SA’s business and skilled migration programs. The position works under the direction of the Business Migration Manager and Stakeholder Engagement Manager to support the delivery of presentations and promotional information regarding South Australia’s immigration programs and opportunities, including contributing to the implementation of a contemporary, effective and responsive online presence through the maintenance of assigned websites. REPORTING / WORKING RELATIONSHIPS (to whom the person reports; staff for whom the person is responsible; internal and external working relationships) • Reports to Stakeholder Engagement Manager and supports the work of the Program Managers and works collaboratively with all members of Immigration SA and other units of the Department. • Liaises with, and provides information to, people from linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds. • Provides information to State and Commonwealth Government agencies, multi-cultural/ethnic community, businesses, employer groups and the recruitment industry. • Liaises with, and provides support and information to, internal department and project related staff and external graphic designers, marketing and communications service providers. SECTION A: RESULTS TO BE ACHIEVED (the outcomes, outputs, services, tasks and products arising from the duties) Results area Effective support is provided to support the delivery of a range of communication and marketing plans and underlying initiatives which underpin the achievement of the business objectives of the Business Innovation and Investment and General Skilled migration programs. Efficient coordination is provided to support the maintenance of an effective and responsive online presence, including website, which promotes SA’s skilled and business migration objectives and targets. The production and distribution of innovative Immigration SA advertising, promotional material, corporate publications and electronic resources is supported to ensure their ongoing accuracy and consistency with SMC guidelines and Immigration SA strategic plans. Efficient support and assistance is delivered to management and staff on relevant communications related matters including for the preparation of reports regarding stakeholder engagement opportunities. A range of other project and administrative support services are delivered across the workgroup, as required, to facilitate the achievement of Immigration SA goals and objectives. Diverse stakeholders are supported to work together as a team, to achieve objectives and positive representation of, and contribution to, the achievement of Departmental goals. Government legislation, Code of Ethics for the SA Public Sector, DSD policies and procedures are complied with, including ethical / accountable resources and information management, WHS and injury management, risk management, and the access / equity / diversity strategies of the public sector. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS (e.g. Act / Award; location; WHS requirements; travel requirements; frequent overtime, etcetera) Compliance with Government legislation, Code of Ethics for the SA Public Sector, DSD policies and procedures, including ethical / accountable resources and information management, WHS and injury management, risk management, and the access / equity /diversity strategies of the public sector. Engagement in this role may be subject to a satisfactory Department for Communities and Social Inclusion Criminal History Check or National Police Check. A renewal will be required every 3 years. Out of hours work may be required. Intra state and interstate travel may be required. The incumbent will be required to maintain a safe working environment by adopting appropriate hazard management practices consistent with the role. Fluent Mandarin language skills are required. List 8-10 criteria critical in enabling the person to achieve to a high level.) TECHNICAL EXPERTISE Knowledge of, and commitment to, current practices in delivering excellent customer service. Knowledge and understanding of public relations protocols within the SA Government, and of marketing, media, communications, promotions, stakeholder management, and market research. Strong computing skills and an understanding of computer concepts and the use of applications within a Microsoft Windows / MS Office environment. Fluent Mandarin language skills are required. EXPERIENCE Developing and coordinating the delivery of high quality, clear and appropriate communications materials and publications. Delivering effective customer services to a broad range of clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, including the provision of accurate and appropriate information. Utilising website content management systems and monitoring and managing web site and digital media content. Providing effective support services for marketing, communication and promotional programs, projects, campaigns and materials in a timely and organised manner. Undertaking minor research including collating and summarising information to meet business needs.
