attempt to enter..
• The unarmed Americans were able to hold off the
Mexican army for 12 days!
– Eventually Santa Anna and his army break through and
defeat the Americans.
– Although this is a Mexican victory, this buys
Americans much needed time!
– The Alamo becomes a symbol of American heroism!
• A Moral Victory!
– Texas is annexed by the United States – Dec 29, 1845.
