SEWON AMERICA JOB DESCRIPTION ____________________________________________________________________________________ JOB TITLE: Employee Relations DEPARTMENT: Human Resources REPORTS TO: GM of HR, Safety & IT CURRENT AS OF: 1/12 JOB PURPOSE: The Human Resources Manager will be required to provide support for a broad range of Human Resources functions including employment and recruiting, talent management, placement/orientation, employee relations, and support HR administration. This individual will also serve as an internal consultant and business partner to other managers. SCOPE / DIMENSIONS: Support 900+ Team Members, Contractors and Temp Employees in a manufacturing facility ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide accurate and timely human resource administration and reporting Responsible for leading employee meetings regarding various topics including company policies, benefits, and training programs Develop human capital strategies to improve company capacity and achieve company goals Assist the Talent Acquisition Specialist recruiting for logistics, material, quality, stamping/press, maintenance, and production/assembly hourly employees Provide guidance and coaching to managers and supervisors regarding suspensions and terminations Responsible for employee relations including discipline meetings which could lead to termination Provide counseling and guidance for a non-union workforce Provide proposals for new HR policies, procedures, strategies, and forms Responsible for implementing company policies and procedures Oversee internal incident investigation related to policy violations Manage and administer departmental communication flow between HR and Operations Develop trust and confidence with employees and act as an employee advocate to promote a union free environment Promote company vision “Best for you” _________________________________________________________________________ SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: Provide HR coaching to both managerial and supervisory levels in company policies, federal, state and local laws and regulations related to employment (for example: ADA, EEOC, AAP, FMLA, etc…) SPECIALIZED TRAINING, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE: 4-years college degree in Business Administration, Management or Human Resources required. 5+ years of progressive human resources experience required. PHR or SPHR certification a plus Working knowledge of various PC programs (Microsoft Excel, Word etc.) Experience working with various HRIS systems Good understanding of state and federal employment laws. Ability to prioritize and keep issues confidential Strong knowledge of HR standards and policies. Basic understanding of unemployment process and guidelines Capable to communicate with different levels of management. Familiar with presentations and proposals. Ability to gain trust, understanding and develop good relationship with employees in all levels. Bilingual (Spanish & English) a plus but not required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS: Office environment with noises from computer peripherals such as mainframe, disk drives and printers. Factory environment with noise from manufacturing environment. Exposure to moving equipment, parts and electrical shock. Possible serious injury due to carelessness around equipment.
