Summary Provide strategic HR leadership to the centralized HR functions and facility Logistics Americas Human Resources teams to meet short and long term business goals through the management and creation of regional human resource processes. Responsible for managing and monitoring the business plan to meet or exceed goals. This person will lead a team of 8 direct reports consisting of 8 management HR Professionals. Additionally, indirect reports include 30 management and support HR personnel. This position supports 5 Countries: US, Canada, Mexico, Venezuela and Brazil, consisting of 25-30 facilities. JOB DUTIES: Responsible for developing the Americas HR business plan for Global Supply Chain Solutions (GSCS) which also includes Compensation & Benefits, Learning & Development, New Business Development, Bench Strength, Communications and Recruiting. Own and manage contracts for HRIS and Payroll systems within the Americas region. Review and approve HR related purchase orders and invoices and monitors expense statements to ensure year-end results are within budget. Advocate for additional resources when appropriate, to ensure the successful completion of business objectives. Help establish the GSCS overall HR strategy and manage its implementation by actively participating as a business partner to the Americas GSCS leadership team. Work with functional HR teams (Learning and Development, Compensation and Benefits, Communications, Talent Management and Business Development) as well as with local HR Teams to drive global prioritization of projects and process improvements and standardization. Help develop a values culture and positive work environment to maintain union-free operations. In facilities where employees are represented by a union, understand contractual obligations and implement HR policies that align with those obligations and support stable and collaborative Labor Relations. Design, manage and implement regional process and strategy for requisition approval, job posting and recruiting strategies for the hiring of warehouse associates, both full time and agency, in the Americas. Identify the Americas learning and development, communications and compensation, and benefits requirements and strategy. Provide leadership and guidance to the teams that represent each of these functional areas, in order for them to prioritize regional needs vs. global needs and to sponsor 6 Sigma projects accordingly. This position is ultimately responsible for Americas implementation of programs and processes related to all HR activities. Develop and improve the Americas' processes related, but not limited to employment, labor relations, training, compensation, benefits, career development, new business, EEO/AA, and communications. Provide HR leadership and support to all new Business Development opportunities in the Americas from initiation of a proposal to implementation of a facility. This includes, but is not limited to, analyzing labor markets to assist in site selection; generating the overall HR strategy; advocating HR best practices and knowing when to deviate; recruiting and hiring for management, salaried and hourly. This involves either a transition of existing client employees or recruiting and hiring a completely new staff. The position manages HR Managers with responsibilities for Facility HR personnel in addition to functional area management professionals. The incumbent provides direction, focus, motivation, and encouragement for subordinates. The position is responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of subordinates. Typical internal customers include all levels of management within Logistics Division Global Supply Chain Solutions department including, the GSCS Vice President and his/her direct reports. Works closely with HR leadership of the client (new Business) or acquisition, with regards to business transfers and acquisitions. The position often confronts complex issues or problems, which require careful analysis and diagnosis. Problems are often unique and solutions can require original approaches and need to be values based. The incumbent may modify existing approaches or develop new solutions. Moderate travel required (Less than 25% of working time). Requirements Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. 8 to 10 years of progressively responsible job-related experience. Global HR Management experience preferred. Experience managing a team of HR professionals required. Experience working in both unionized and non-union environments. The position requires knowledge of various personnel and/or benefits policies and programs. Familiarity with functional areas, policies and procedures is required.
