IMPORTANT INTRODUCTION
With changes expected at Easter 2014 with the creation of the new
Diocese of West Yorkshire and the Dales with its five Episcopal
Areas, and the consequential transfer of several parishes to the
Diocese of Blackburn, this long-standing publication will over the
coming period undergo change in content and format and may be
replaced by a cross-Diocese of West Yorkshire & the Dales version.
Discussions are taking place about this, coordinated by the Bishop
of Pontefract.
Already it has been decided that from Palm Sunday there will be
an Intercession Booklet designed to focus everyone’s prayers upon
the needs of the new Diocese and everyone ministering in it. This
document will be circulated by Bishops James Bell & Tony
Robinson at the Lenten meetings that they are holding in every
deanery. It will initially cover the period from Holy Week up to
the Feast of Pentecost when the Inauguration & Confirmation of
the new Bishop is expected to take place at York Minster.
Accordingly, I have completed this booklet to the same date.
This current edition is based on bringing together weekly
intentions into groupings of benefices within their new Areas and
ignores the current deaneries. I have also omitted any diocesan
intentions on Sundays from Palm Sunday onwards and would
invite you to use the prayers contained in the new leaflet alone for
that day.
Keeping a document such as this up-to-date and correct is a very
difficult task and therefore if you notice any errors would you

Priestly Support from Southern Sudan:
Thank God for those who have undergone training for ministry and for those who
carry the load in busy churches. Bradford is playing a part in providing extra support

Thank God for the funds which have arrived in Sudan and have been used wisely.
May God bring about peace so that rebuilding may begin.

Give thanks for the ministry of the faculties and staffs of TEC seminaries. Pray for
Education for Ministry mentors as they train this week. Pray and give thanks for the
Vestry of Good Shepherd, Folly Mills.
ERFURT, GERMANY
For migrants who have moved to Erfurt seeking a new homeland especially
refugees from Syria who are currently arriving in that part of Germany.
