This description above fits my interest to be a intervention specialist teacher because I have experienced all of this with my little brother. He is in the sixth grade and has an I.E.P. I have experienced everything that his IS teachers do to help him succeed in school. Because of this it has made me want to do the same for other children with special needs or learning disabilities. Email: Hello Mrs. Fife, My name is Kayleigh Werling I am a sophomore at Capital University in Columbus Ohio and I am studying to be an early childhood education teacher and intervention specialist. I am currently taking the introduction course to education at Capital and one of our first assignments is to write an email to someone who is currently working in the job that we would want to pursue. I choose to email you because you have taught my brother Louis for the past four years at Dover. I have watched behind the scenes what goes on with him and learned about his I.E.P and what he needs help with and what his strengths and weaknesses are. What I do not know is what goes on in your life during a school day? What challenges do you have with your students? I know this job can be difficult but what are the exciting parts to your day with a student? How are you able to connect with all these children that are all so different in learning and their learning disabilities? Would you recommend that I take graduate classes while teaching or would you say that my undergraduate degree is enough? If I haven’t asked you to many questions yet I just have one final one for you, what else do I need to know and learn that I will not learn or be told at college? I thank you so much for taking the time to read my email and if you have the time to answer my questions it would really help me throughout my education at college and after once I get a professional teaching job. Once again I appreciate your time and look for to hearing back from you in the future. King Regards, Kayleigh Werling
